Overview

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Program Manager is responsible for clinical and administrative supervision of integrated, therapeutic services including: outpatient counseling, community/school-based counseling, clinical case management, youth substance use disorder services, crisis intervention, and other supports to our clients with behavioral health disorders disorder needs.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages and administers clinical services for the program, including budget and program development.
  • Hires, trains, and supervises team members. Develops and maintains a clinical team who provides effective mental health treatment to clients appropriate for outpatient level of care.
  • Provides ongoing clinical and administrative supervision to the program team members. 
  • Monitors and evaluates team members' performance.
  • Ensures delivery of quality, clinical work in the program. Oversees treatment planning to ensure services result in the accomplishment of identified outcomes for clients.
  • Provides clinical and administrative oversight to all client assessments, caseload assignments, treatment plans, crisis plans, and terminations.
  • Maintains responsibility for timely completion of paperwork and adherence to and compliance with the organization, Washington Administrative Code, and County Behavioral Health Organization guidelines.
  • Develops and maintains collaborative working agreements with other agencies and systems.
  • Responds to program emergencies as necessary.
  • Maintains ethical and competent client and peer relationships in the delivery of service.
  • Performs other duties as needed and/or assigned.

TEAM MEMBER SUPERVISION

  • Selects, trains, supervises, and provides ongoing support to assigned new team members.
  • Plans, assigns, and directs work; supervises daily activities of assigned team members as needed.
  • Manages performance, providing coaching and recognition, addressing complaints and resolving problems, and taking corrective action as necessary.

KEY WORK RELATIONSHIPS

Establishes and maintains positive, ethical, and professional working relationships with clinical team members, clients, and outside organizations. Relates to a wide variety of people including members of ethnic and sexual minority populations and is respectful of individual and cultural differences.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • MSW or Master's degree in social work, psychology, or a counseling-related field highly preferred.
  • Five (5) years of experience in direct service and supervision. 
  • Knowledge and training in diverse models of treatment (including drug and alcohol).

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS

  • Ability to demonstrate skill and experience in working with a wide range of emotional and behavioral problems in adults and/or children
  • Ability to demonstrate skills at presenting problems and resolution.
  • Ability to demonstrate skills at early intervention and prevention as well as time-effective treatment. 
  • Understands recovery concepts in behavioral health; synthesizes and applies, as appropriate to their work at Sound.
  • Understands the concept of recovery and possess skills in service delivery for individuals with co-occurring disorders of substance abuse and mental illness. 
  • Communicates effectively with collateral agencies having contact with the individual and/or the family.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong leadership skills, including the ability to supervise team members effectively. 
  • Ability to demonstrate the ability to work well independently as necessary. 
  • Possess knowledge of community mental health systems and resources within King County (highly desirable). 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS

  • Mental Health Professional (MHP) designation.
  • Washington State licensure as, LMHC, LICSW, or LMFT highly preferred. 
  • Must be able to obtain a WA State Agency Affiliated Counselor credential within the first 60 days of hire.
  • Washington State driver's license and insurable driving record.
  • Must pass a criminal background check. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

To successfully perform the essential duties of this position, an individual must be able to sit at a desk for four or more hours a day, and use office equipment, including phones and computer keyboards, for four or more hours per day. Individuals must be able to engage vendors, team members, clients and others over the phone and in-person by voice. Regular attendance is an essential function of the position.
